Job Summary

A new research team studying the neuronal mechanisms of sleep and wakefulness, is looking for a full-time Research Technician that is highly motivated and passionate about science. The lab uses various behavioral, molecular and physiological techniques in freely behaving rodents.

Responsibilities*

  • Setting up new experimental systems, maintaining existing systems and assisting lab members with technical aspects of research projects
  • Routine laboratory management, including organization and maintenance of lab supplies and equipment
  • Mouse husbandry/animal care procedures
  • Mouse genotyping
  • Training of new laboratory members

Required Qualifications*

  • High school diploma or Associate's degree
  • At least 1 year of previous laboratory experience
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness and ability to work with animals

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in Life Sciences
  • Interest in neuroscience and sleep research
  • Previous experience with molecular biology, data analysis and/or stereotaxic surgeries in rodents

Additional Information

This position is term-limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension.
