A postdoctoral fellowship position is available to work on aging, metabolism, and vascular inflammation in murine models. Michigan has great strengths in gerontology, inflammation, and cardiovascular research. Candidate responsibilities include: i) conducting research, ii) developing experimental designs, iii) analyzing scientific literature, iv) acquiring and processing data, v) preparing and presenting research papers, presentations, and grants.
PI will provide focused and tailored mentoring to candidate to ensure that candidate reaches the desired career goals. Candidate will have the unique opportunity of participating in multi-disciplinary research discussions of the new basic center on aging and cardiovascular disease under leadership of the PI.
Candidates should have either a PhD or MD and have at least one peer review experimental / investigational paper in a journal
- A candidate with prior experience in immunology or vascular biology research
- Ability to work in a team + excellent people skills
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Self-motivated, excellent organization skills, and responds positively to constructive remarks.
- Ability to be eligible for NIH training grants.
