The University of Michigan, Department of Internal Medicine is seeking board certified/eligible candidates for a faculty position in the Division of General Medicine. The successful candidates will be expected to participate in patient care and teaching in our General Medicine Division. Duties include teaching, providing direct patient care, and involvement in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Research opportunities are also available for qualified candidates. The ideal candidate should have an M.D. or D.O. degree and postgraduate clinical training. They should hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical license in the State of Michigan as well as be board certified or board eligible. Candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with other clinicians. Excellent communication skills are essential. Evidence of clinical competence and competence in didactic teaching is expected. Evidence of scholarly ability ( record of publications in relevant scientific journals, acquisition of external fudning, presentations at scientific meetings, etc.) is also expected.
Prior training or clinical experience at a major academic medical center is preferred.
This position is posted as a Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor. Rank of selected candidate is dependent upon qualifications.
