Prepare, compound, package and label sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals. Perform calculations for the preparation of medication and pharmaceutical products. Perform pharmacy computer system operations, including order entry, billing, crediting and updating. Assist in the training and orientation of new staff / students. Respond to telephone inquiries, referring them to the appropriate person. Assist in the acquisition and maintenance of appropriate inventories of pharmaceuticals and other supplies. Assist in the development, revision and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and programs.
Good aseptic technique required in the performance of sterile IV compounding. Staff required to wash & sanitize hands frequently and wear head cover, face mask, booties and non-shedding gown while performing dispensing. Cleaning of LAFW, counters and equipment is a large portion of the job.
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary..
- Competency in using MS Word and Excel is required.
- Good communication skills needed.
- Must be team oriented and be able to multi-task.
- ARRT (N) or NMTCB certified.
Experience in Nuclear Pharmacy compounding is desirable.
Experience in compounding sterile products include chemotherapeutic agents is highly desirable.
Licensure & Certification
ARRT (N) or NMTCB certified required.
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is desirable.
Days: 6 AM – 2:30 PM / 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Rotating
