An auxiliary person who assists the nurse in providing care to patients and is under the supervision of a professional nurse. Assists in obtaining and caring for equipment. Helps maintain a safe and clean environment in the patient unit.
High School diploma or GED required. Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have previous nurse aide experience in a healthcare setting. Nurse Aide certification required. BCLS certification required.
Must have and maintain a BLS Certification. Must be able to perform a wide range of physical activities which include moving, transporting and positioning patients and equipment as well and constantly positioning self to provide patient care and related duties.
Shift: Night Shift 11:00pm - 7:30am
This position is 32 hours per week: Every other weekend
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
