We invite candidates who meet the listed qualifications and competencies to apply for the Program Manager - Undergraduate and Graduate Recruitment position. This position is focused on undergraduate and graduate recruitment, outreach and marketing activities within the College of Arts, Sciences and Letters.  This position will report jointly to the Associate Deans of the College.

 In addition to the required competencies, successful candidates will have a creative approach to recruitment, utilize social media and emerging platforms to engage potential students, and work collaboratively with colleagues throughout the university.  Candidates should be able to articulate an outcome-oriented focus on their work, a strong commitment to diversity, and how they thrive and succeed in a dynamic environment.

 The Program Manager is responsible for Undergraduate and Graduate Recruitment activities in support of the College’s enrollment goals.  Among the responsibilities of the Program Manager are to serve as the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters’ principal contact for counselors from community colleges and high schools, establish relationships with community college advisors and counselors, develop and maintain articulation agreements, maintain an updated transfer guide, monitor usage of Michigan Transfer Agreement, serve as principal CASL contact for graduate program inquiries, and advertise and promote CASL graduate programs, and host and participate in campus events for community college/high school advisors/counselors.

The incumbent is expected to facilitate collaborative partnerships with Enrollment Management and Student Life (EMSL) to leverage results, establish relationships and actively engage with SE Michigan employers (e.g. HR departments of judicial offices, local governments, non-profit agencies) to advise them of programs, understand their needs and work with program directors on developing programs that meet employer needs, work with program directors on program curriculum to make sure information in publications/on website is accurate, and work with the Co-op Office to get the names and addresses of students to send out information on graduate program.

The preferred candidate will have experience with social media, website communications and development of presentations, conferences, and workshops.  Additionally, hosting graduate open houses and participation in student orientations to present an overview of programs offered, resources available are key functions of this position.

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor degree required
  • At least two years of experience working in a consultative role and/or sales
  • Able to communicate and interact with diverse populations including students, parents, nontraditional students, advisors, employers, and colleagues
  • Skilled at giving presentations
  • Effective in building and maintaining relationships
  • Demonstrated passion and enthusiasm for working with students
  • Collaborative and teamwork oriented

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience working with community colleges
  • Master degree preferred
  • Experience working in Admissions, Advising or Transfer Relations

Additional Information

  • Able to travel locally up to 40% of the time; ability to lift 30 pounds
  • May require night and/or weekend work
