Job Summary

The Program Assistant will work with the staff of the UM-Flint EDA Center for Community and Economic Development at the Ferris Wheel downtown. The temp position will spend 15 hours per week assisting with event and marketing activities as well as administrative work.

Responsibilities*

  • Coordinate event logistics
  • Represent Department of University Outreach
  • Assist entrepreneurs with initial intake procedures
  • Assist EDA University Center staff with compilation and reporting of survey results
  • Conduct follow-up phone or in-person interviews as appropriate
  • Gather supplemental information for final report from online sources
  • Gathering information for website/portal
  • Organizing data in Excel

Required Qualifications*

  • Graduation from high school supplemented by two years of college or business school education
  • Experience with event planning and management
  • Exhibit level of professionalism
  • Customer service experience
  • Strong quantitative skills
  • Ability to work independently and take direction
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Knowledge of University business procedures
  • Interest on economic and business research

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with Qualtrics software
  • 1- 3 years experience working with entrepreneurs or in professional setting
  • Experience with social media marketing
  • Experience with Adobe In Design

Additional Information

This job posting is for a University of Michigan-Flint temporary position. Temporary employment may be full or part time, but in either case is limited in duration. This is a grant funded position with funding secured through September 2018.
