Postdoctoral research positions are available in the laboratory of Asma Nusrat, M.D. and Charles Parkos, M.D., Ph.D. at the University of Michigan within the Department of


Opportunities exist for cutting-edge research projects in the areas of epithelial barrier function, mucosal inflammation and repair. Complementary in vitro approaches and in vivo knockout mouse models are used to study mucosal homeostasis and investigate mechanisms of epithelial barrier regulation, leukocyte cross talk with epithelial cells and wound repair in the gastrointestinal tract.

Required Qualifications*

Successful candidates will become part of a highly productive and collaborative team of junior and senior investigators in modern, interconnected laboratory space. Within the group, there is a strong commitment to mentorship and an excellent track record of success for both academic and industrial-career track oriented individuals. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in molecular/cell biology, protein biochemistry of eukaryotic systems and mucosal immunology. A doctoral degree and English communication skills are necessary.
