Job Summary

The University of Michigan-Flint’s Department of Art & Art History seeks an Interim Lecturer I in Art, for Winter Semester 2018.  Responsibilities include teaching two courses, Three-Dimensional Design and Introduction to Ceramics/Wheel Throwing. These classes meet 8:00 – 10:45 am Tuesdays and Thursdays and 11:00 -1:45 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 3, 2018- April 17, 2018. The appointment is for the Winter semester only, but is potentially renewable based on department need.  Minimum salary for this position is $3,413 per course section.

Required Qualifications*

Minimum qualifications include a BFA in Ceramics with professional and teaching experience. A MA or MFA in Art is preferred.  Ability to teach 3-D Design and Introduction to Ceramics/Wheel Throwing. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated vision, enthusiasm, and leadership are essential.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
