Job Summary

University of Michigan Medical Group is seeking an associate financial analyst to provide financial and analytical support to various Ambulatory Care Units (ACUs). The analyst will join the financial team supporting the medical group operations and support various financial projects. The service delivery model will involve multiple interactions with Michigan Medicine leadership and central finance operations.

The associate financial analyst conducts data analysis, provides administrative financial support in the areas of budgets, financial planning, fiscal operations, including variance analysis, data modeling and forecasting.

Required Qualifications*

  • Proficiency in problem solving and analytical skills
  • MS-Excel skills
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn various elements of health care finance
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Able to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
  • Adaptability and flexibility to evaluate and adjust to workplace changes
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service orientation
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Finance, Health Administration or a related field

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel)
  • Experience with data base query tools
  • Strong interest in finance within an academic medical center or a healthcare system

Additional Information

This position will require personal local vehicle travel to various Michigan Medicine units within Ann Arbor.
