Responsibilities*

Assist in day to day operations at the circulation desk.  Check in and out materials to patrons using library computer systems.  Interact with library staff and faculty, as well as patrons of the library.  Answer phones, renew patron materials, assist patrons with library equipment.  Maintain the stacks in the library by shelving, reading, straightening, shifting, and doing daily pickups of library items.  Fill paper in printers throughout the library.  Perform other assigned duties.

Required Qualifications*

Must be a currently enrolled student at UM-Flint.

Desired Qualifications*

Previous library experience.

Outgoing personality.

Customer service oriented.

Be able to accurately follow instructions and work efficiently.

Be able to work independently or with a team. 

Preference will be given to students who can make at least one year commitment at their hire date and who have been awarded work-study funds for Winter 2018.

Work Schedule

Start date is end of December or early January.

Currently seeking applicants who are available to cover the following hours and days, but mostly nights and weekends.  Applicants will receive approximately 12 - 16 hours each.  Will work with applicants on the days and times they can cover.

Fall/Winter Semesters

Monday - Thursday:  8am - Midnight

Fridays:  8am - 8pm

Saturdays:  10am - 8pm

Sundays:  Noon - 10pm

Spring/Summer Semesters

Monday - Thursday:  8am - 10pm

Fridays: 8am - 6pm

Saturdays:  Noon - 6pm

Sundays:  Noon - 8pm
