- Provide routine and moderately complex technical support according to overall project goals and protocols
- Culture of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, primary immune cells, and cell lines
- Multi-color flow cytometry analysis and sorting
- Production of recombinant retroviruses
- Basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA cloning)
- Actively participate in mouse models of leukemia and adoptive therapy
- Actively participate in in vitro tissue culture experiments, including cytotoxicity studies and immunologic assays
- Collect, analyze, and process research data, reporting to the Principal Investigator
- Collaborate in the development of new techniques
- Participate in laboratory meetings
- Assist in laboratory compliance with CLIA, OSHA, affirmative action, and bio-safety requirements
- Work in collaboration with Principal Investigator on other projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a scientific discipline or related health field
- Working knowledge of principles of molecular biology, microbiology, and immunology
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a member of our team
- Excellent attendance, ability to prioritize appropriately and exercise good judgment
- Must be willing to work with mice models
- Compliance with University research policies and procedures
- At least 1 year commitment to position
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and proficiency or ability to learn EndNote reference manager, Graphpad data analysis software, and FlowJo flow cytometry analysis software
- One to two years of laboratory experience with a minimum of one year experience in a research setting relevant to the position
- Experimental work with mice and mouse tissues
- Previous research experience with in vitro tissue culture systems
