First course in Arabic. Listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, and culture are emphasized. Course materials promote the use of language to communicate with others and to function in the Arabic-speaking world.
Course will be taught two days per week, two hours each class beginning January 2018. Days and times to be determined by candidate and discipline. 2018 salary is to be determined. Current 2017 salary is $4,716 per course
A minimum of a M.A. in Arabic language is required. Native or near-native Arabic language proficiency and experience teaching Arabic at the undergraduate level.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
