Responding to inquiries from students walking into the Political Science and Economics office and helping students connect to the appropriate resources.  Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, staff and the general public.  Answer and/or forward phone calls to staff and faculty.  Perform office duties including:  scanning and xeroxing of documents, updating bulletin boards, creating and updating office documents, labeling of envelopes, distribution of mail to faculty and staff, and special projects.  Use e-mail, as needed, to communicate with campus community.  Assist in maintenance of office equipment.  Familiarity with xerox equipment, scanner, and Microsoft Office software.   

Required Qualifications*

UM-Flint Work-study eligible students ONLY.  *Must have been awarded work-study funding for 2017-2018 (Winter 2018 semester).  In order to be considered for this position, you must apply online at  A cover letter confirming your eligibility for work study must be included with your resume.  Must be available to work 10-15 hours per week during office hours 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday.   

Desired Qualifications*

Candidates should have the ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately with some supervision.  Prior experience in an office setting or customer service area preferred.  Computer skills using microsoft office and e-mail.
