The Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan School of Public Health is rated the top biostatistics program in the country by the National Academies. We bring biostatistical design and analysis expertise to a wide spectrum of health-related issues. Our faculty, students, and staff work in important and diverse areas of current biostatistical research; including image analysis, survival and event history analysis, statistical genetics and bioinformatics, clinical trials, Bayesian methods, statistical computing, longitudinal data analysis, methods for missing data, and survey research. This position supports the Department of Biostatistics in its research, teaching and services responsibilities. Following are this positions responsibilities:
- Update and provide faculty Other Support and Biosketches; monitor pcards for faculty; process miscellaneous reimbursements; prepare non-PO, PO, and PeoplePay requests.
- Provide computer/software ordering; room scheduling; travel/agenda information for faculty candidates; organize and set up department meetings; back-up for Student Admin Assistant front office duties; track items for Property Disposition and arrange delivery.
- Prepare monthly deposit; audit monthly ITCom report; administer annual computer contract renewal; maintain computer information database; make copies as requested; prepare Concur reports for Business Admin Lead and Student Services Coordinators; update department directories; other faculty and department requests as needed.
- Bi-annual department inventory for items over $5,000; assist Student Admin Assistant with planning of department events; update technical papers website; assist with IRB submissions, renwals and revisions, ensure that compliance with University deadline is met; ensure that students, faculty, and staff are compliant with their effort certification/recertification; maintain faculty display cases; and place ITCom orders.
High School Diploma plus 4+ years of high-level administrative experience with-in a University setting.
Excellent communication skills.
Highly organized and flexible, ability to mulitask, set priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to work as a team member.
Proactive with a high level of discretion and judgment.
Exceptional computer and internet skills including Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of and adherence to University policies and procedures.
An Associates or Bachelor's degree in business of similar study.
Knowledge of U of M business software.
