Responsibilities*

Maintenance and preventative maintenance of Fresenius 2008H and K dialysis machines, Fresenius Baby K, NxStage machines and portable Reverse Osmosis systems for the Home Hemodialysis patients. Maintenance and preventative maintenance of dialysis water and dialysate delivery system.  Water analysis, culture and endotoxin testing.  Dialysate cultures and endotoxin testing.  Disinfection of water and dialysate systems.  Weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventories.  Education of patient care staff in regards to water treatment system and dialysate mixing, and serve as a trainer for new component upgrades.  All documentation required by unit policy.  Assist in arranging physical plant repairs and upgrades.

Required Qualifications*

Senior Level:  5 or more years of experience in area of specialization.

Intermediate Level:  3-5 years of experience in area of specialization.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Associates Degree in related field.
  • Knowledge of RO systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory control.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Knowledge of Conditions for Coverage.

Work Schedule

40 hours/week. Days and evenings / variable shifts. PTO eligible.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the U-M Skilled Trades Union, Inc., which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
