The Brighton Center for Specialty Care is the newest University of Michigan Ambulatory Care facility dedicated to providing high quality health care services for adults and children. The brand new 2-story facility is located at 7500 Challis in Brighton, MI. We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients, families and employees.

What Skills Would You Master?

  • You will confidently perform basic metric conversation and calculations

  • Once trained, you will be successful at compounding chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy products for oral use

  • You will accept prescriptions from patients and be involved in preparing prescription orders

  • You will answer phone calls and triage calls based on the degree of urgency

  • You will complete insurance paperwork for patients

What are the Qualifications?

Pharmacy Technician Associate:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is desirable

  • Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs

  • Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills are necessary

Pharmacy Technician Intermediate:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is desirable

  • Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

  • Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills are necessary

  • One or more years of relevant pharmacy practice or equivalent experience is necessary.

Pharmacy Technician Senior:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is desirable

  • Valid Michigan Pharmacy Technician License on or before hire date, verifiable through the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs

  • Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills are necessary.

  • Two or more years of relevant pharmacy practice or equivalent experience is necessary.

 

Physical Requirements 

This position requires extensive standing/walking, as well as lifting, pushing, and transporting of equipment

 

Underfill Statement

This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position.  The hours will include a day shift (8:30AM-5:00PM, 9:00AM-5:30PM) working Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays (8:30AM-12:30PM).

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act.
