The person in this position, working as a simulation technician, will provide technical, clinical and educational support for the University of Michigan Clinical Simulation Center (CSC) during simulation-based educational activities including working with faculty and staff to develop and control effective simulation-based educational within the CSC and in clinical settings.
Set-up, assembly/disassembly, operation, and cleaning of equipment, furniture, simulators, instruments and accessories, and transport of simulators, audio visual equipment and other equipment, instruments and supplies to various locations on the main UMHS campus and off-site locations.
Provide first line technical and operational support of simulators, computers, audio visual and other CSC equipment. Provide education for clinical relevant skills, including, but not limited to, CSC on-site training (OTP), and BLS/ACLS/PALS. Monitor rooms and provide first line user operational support to faculty, course administrators and participants during CSC events.
Assist in data collection including distribution/collection of assessments and assure that participants complete the online CSC check-in/check-out forms, enter daily utilization, etc. as requested.
Must have strong communication skills, work in a team and individually and available to work flexible hours including weekends. Current certifications as EMT, AHA - ACLS or PALS provider and instructor, and have strong computer and IT skills, however these certifications and or computer skills, may be obtained and or developed later if the candidate has other applicable clinical and educational skills.
