Responsibilities*

Serve as the resource person for flow cytometric testing and methodologies.  Maintain quality control, procedure manuals, proficiency testing, and competency assessment program for all testing in flow cytometry.  Coordinate the purchasing for laboratory supplies for these tests.  Prepare for and participate in mandated inspections.  Assist in instruction and training of new employees, residents and students.  Provide staff with ongoing information and assistance to perform their duties.  Perform testing in all areas of flow cytometry.  Meet all competencies required by Michigan Medicine and the department of Pathology.  Complete the number of hours required in the Pathology CE program.  Make recommendations for assignment of additional responsibilities to staff.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor's Degree required. MT or MLS with ASCP certification required. Minimum 5 years of experience in flow cytometry.  Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Desired Qualifications*

Working knowledge of Beckman Coulter FC500 and Gallios flow cytometers, CXP and Kaluza acquisition and analysis software, and SCC LIS along with expertise in flow cytometry and hematology is desired.

Work Schedule

This full time, 40 hour position will be on the day shift.
