Assists with the performance of quality control (QC) testing of diagnostic x-ray, ultrasound, and PACS imaging equipment and maintains accurate records of these tests. Works closely with medical physicists, technologists, radiologists, and other hospital staff to ensure the safe operation and effective use of x-ray imaging equipment
(including radiography, fluoroscopy, and CT), ultrasound imaging equipment, and PACS equipment.
To assist with the performance of quality control testing of x-ray, ultrasound, and PACS equipment (for PACS equipment, especially the testing of workstation display monitors). Maintain accurate records of these tests. Provide all of the above services throughout Michigan Medicine, including satellite locations. To assist with the development of new tools for the performance of the QC tests.
Certification as a diagnostic x-ray technologist. Knowledge of the operation of diagnostic x-ray equipment is required.
Knowledge of the operation of ultrasound, and PACS equipment in desired.
The ability to work independently for some tasks, as well as, the ability to work as part of the team with others.
Ability to frequently stand/walk, move and position fairly heavy QC equipment and instruments, wearing heavy radiation protection aprons, and move equipment carts.
Computer skills are desired, as are skills at using electronic measuring equipment.
Certification as a quality control x-ray technologist. Advanced data analysis skills.
Experience using radiation measuring equipment.
