Researcher seeks to hire a post-doctoral fellow to work on collaborative research projects that focus on: 1) the examination of mentoring relationships, practices, and programs and 2) the impact of social community and resiliency on the engagement and persistence of undergraduate engineering students. The post-doctoral fellow will work directly with Dr. Joi Mondisa, Assistant Professor of Industrial and Operations Engineering and Engineering Education Faculty Member at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
The primary duties of the post doctoral fellow are to: perform literature reviews and meta-syntheses; conduct semi-structured interviews; analyze quantitative and qualitative data; mentor graduate and undergraduate students; participate in collaborative project meetings of the team members; present research at conferences; and draft manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
The post-doctoral fellow work is expected to be accomplished in the office/lab on the UM Ann Arbor campus. The post-doctoral fellow will participate in weekly meetings and regularly scheduled face-to-face meetings.
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in a STEM field, engineering education, higher education, psychology, sociology, or a related field. A demonstrated ability to work/collaborate with others and work independently.
Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following: conducting engineering education/higher education/social science research using qualitative and/or quantitative research methods; instrument development and assessment; analyzing data; strong oral and written communication skills.
