Transportation of patients between patient unit and Occupational and Physical therapy department. Assist physical and occupational therapists in two person techniques, and general equipment set-up and cleaning. Manage equipment delivery to therapists and patients as needed. Patient care delivered under direction of physical or occupational therapists for treatment set-up or physical assistance with patient mobility. Data Entry into Excel Spreadsheets, Schedule transportation needs for patients, Medical record updates.
Computer skills including working with Excel spreadsheets and effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform physical activities that require a considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and supporting patients throughout the entire work day. Hands on, fine motor skills to adjust and set up mobility aides as directed by physical or occupational therapist. Minimum High School graduation, further education desirable. Experience working with direct patient care in the acute hospital/rehab setting or education in the field in preferred.
This position will work Saturdays and/or Sundays minimum of 5 hours per day . Must be flexible to work additional hours on Saturday and/or Sunday and possibly during the weekdays, depending on the needs for patient care coverage.
