We seek an energetic, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to cook/prepare Fly Food for the model organism Drosophila melanogaster, as well as other duties related to the husbandry of the fruit fly. The facilities primarily serve laboratories in the Geriatrics Center that study the genetics of aging and aging-related disease. Duties for the position include cooking fly food, dispensing food into containers, and general cleaning of the kitchen, among other duties. This position is under supervision of the laboratory manager.
$10-$14 per hour DOE.
Previous experience in a laboratory environment is not essential, and demonstrated dependability, organization, and attention to detail are critical. Good communication skills are required.
