Postdoctoral position in experimental and computational neurophysiology at the University of Michigan
Postdoctoral research position available in the laboratory of Dr. Anthony Hudetz in the Department of Anesthesiology, Center for Consciousness Science, University of Michigan Medical School.
The candidate will work on NIH-supported projects to understand the neurobiological basis of consciousness by investigating the neuronal mechanism of general anesthesia. The research involves experimental electrophysiology in rodents using high-density microelectrode array recordings, incracerebral microstimulation, and optogenetic manipulation of neuronal activity. Complex neuronal interactions are analyzed with multivariate mathematical models and information theory. More detail in the lab website: http://hudetzlab.med.umich.edu/
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in neuroscience, physics, engineering or related field.
Background in systems neuroscience, electrophysiology or computational neuroscience and experience with MATLAB is desired.
