We are seeking a highly motivated individual with training/education in biology to serve as research technician for a basic science-oriented laboratory housed in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology. The laboratory studies basic mechanisms of epithelial differentiation and tissue homeostasis under normal and disease circumstances, and makes extensive use of cell culture and transgenic mouse models.
The candidate will assume responsibility for managing a sizable portfolio of transgenic mouse lines, for creating and vetting new transgenic models, with a chance to participate in their characterization. The candidate will also assume responsibility for select aspects of daily lab operations. The chosen candidate will join a group of talented scientists and work closely with the PI as well as the senior lab manager.
HS Diploma or Associate's Degree, familiar with and knowledgeable about biological systems, willing to work with mice on a daily basis and possess outstanding organizational skills. Ability to follow protocols carefully and reproducibly and to keep good records is essential. The candidate must enjoy working with a team, be of positive attitude and enjoy teaching/training undergraduates. Previous research experience is a plus.
Research Lab Tech Intermediate: Requires 1-3 years of experience
Research Lab Tech Associate: Requires 0-1 years of experience
Bachelor's degree preferred
