Direct patient care to identified Urology population
Assist and support clinic operations including patient flow and providing support to providers and registered nurses.
Obtain relevant patient medical history, medications and allergies.
Assessment of identified patients
Determine patient/family needs
Assist with procedures, provide post procedure instructions and perform venipuncture
Perform telephone triage, utilizing nursing protocols as indicated by provider and/or registered nurse
Administer and document medications and plan care accordingly to established procedures
Process patient care orders utilizing the electronic ordering system will be required
Process/manage MIChart in-basket messages
Order DME/patient supplies/equipment
Assist with completion of FMLA paperwork, work notes, and letters of medical necessity
Will be trained to cover for person obtaining pre authorizations

Required Qualifications*

  • Graduation from an accredited School of Practical Nursing 
  • Current license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Michigan 
  • Completion of a pharmacology course in an accredited program 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Computer proficiency 
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to varying schedules and different work environments
  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service skills 
  • This position requires extensive standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring of patients.

Desired Qualifications*

  • One (1) year experience in an ambulatory setting 
  • Experience with MIChart/EPIC/EMR 
  • Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinaryhealth care team. 
  • Demonstrated accountability and dependability 
  • Demonstrates positive attitude, team player

Work Schedule

Hours/Week: 40 hours per week 
Shift/Hours/Days: Days/Evenings based on clinic needs
