Provide patient focused quality care to pediatric hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant patients and families. Work as a nurse member of collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The Ambulatory Care Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care including patient education and the management of telephone triage in a clinical setting.
The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; assesses the needs of the patient undergoing surgical/diagnostic/therapeutic procedures; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; and teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers.

This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C, includes B.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level E.

Required Qualifications*

A current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan. 

Minimum of four (4) years Pediatric RN experience, two (2) years of which include RN experience with the hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant patient population.

Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple interventions simutaneously. 

Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a collaborative manner

Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in daily practice; assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Required qualifications must be met by the candidate in order to be interviewed and considered for the position.

Desired Qualifications*

Recent ambulatory care RN experience, inclusive of phone triage, labs, working with multi-disciplinary team member

Demonstrated ability to provide patient and family education specific to symptom management to the pediatric hematology oncology and bone marrow transplant population.

Certification by OCN or CPON

BSN Preferred

Work Schedule

Part time, 0.9 (36 hrs) per week
Shift/Hours: Day shift; Monday thru Friday, days & hours may vary
* Location: C&W Hospital: 7th level Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic 

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
