Job Summary

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at UM-Dearborn is seeking an Intermittent Lecturer for the Fall 2018 term to teach BENG 351 "Bio-Systems and Instrumentations". The course covers measurements in biological materials using a variety of sensor technologies along with electronic instrumentation design and use. Safety and FDA requirements are also presented.

Responsibilities*

The Intermittent Lecturer will be expected to teach BENG 351 "Bio-Systems and Instrumentations" a 4 (four) hour course.  This is expected to be a 33.3% appointment, the course schedule is TBD.  Specific activities include course preparation, content delivery, grading, office hours, and discussion/meetings with the Department Chair.

Required Qualifications*

Preferred candidates will possess, at minimum, a PhD Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Bio Engineering with relevant specialization, relevant teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence.  Candidates with lesser qualifications will be considered. Candidates will be evaluated based on submitted CV, teaching evaluations, and relevant recommendations.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
