Provide clinical research support in accordance with the institutional and health center guidelines for adult and pediatric research for the Michigan Clinical Research Unit. This candidate will lead the coordination of services for MCRU’s mobile portfolio including MCRU 2 U, community based research, in addition to supporting clinical research trials at the Cardiovascular Center (CVC) and Dominos Farm (DF). The selected applicant will assist in the administration and completion of simple protocol specific procedures involving direct participant care. This may include, but not limited to, time sensitive blood draws, specimen collection, specimen processing and shipping, vital signs, EKGs, order/stock supplies associated with MCRU’s clinical and laboratory services. In addition the candidate will demonstrate knowledge of documenting, and utilizing information from the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and database platforms, signifying the ability to resolve simple queries from each data source. 

The applicant will coordinate activities associated with the participant’s MCRU visits while utilizing the view of the scheduling portal. This involves coordinating workload with the MCRU Clinic and Laboratory Leads, and interfacing with the study teams to provide a seamless standard process. 

The applicant will adhere to regulatory compliance, and demonstrate knowledge of a diverse protocol portfolio associated with MCRU (CVC and DF) and laboratory services. This will include understanding protocol structure, and interpretation of the study to comply with the study parameters. 

The applicant will demonstrate the ability to effectively function as a team, and independently, completing tasks as assigned, in addition to prioritizing and executing daily workflows to ensure MCRU is performing with quality excellence in mind. 

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in clinical research preferred.
Clinical background
Specimen processing, and shipping 
Demonstrated phlebotomy skills, minimum one year experience using skill in a prior position. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required. 
Ability to work independently or in a fast-paced clinic and/or community and/or laboratory setting with a team environment. 
Ability to solve problems and prioritize multiple tasks.  
Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge related to tests and procedures.
Attends or participates in professional development and collaborative efforts required for this position.
Knowledge of UMHS Policies and Procedures.

Desired Qualifications*

Clinical research experience.
Previous Clinical Research Subjects Coordinator.
Community based clinical care support.
Previous laboratory experience
Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS) experience, preferably Lab Vantage and/or Freezerworks

Work Schedule

Full Time/Days/Evening/Every other Weekend
