Minimum salary for this position is $3,413.50 per course. The Department of Communication Studies at the University of Michigan-Flint seeks a Lecturer 1 beginning in the Fall 2018 semester. Courses covered could include some combination of COM 200: Introduction to Human Communication, COM 210: Introduction to Public Speaking, and COM 338: Communication in Business, or other courses as determined by department need. The department participates in our Dual Enrollment Education Partnerships (DEEP) program, where UM-Flint faculty offer college courses to dual enrolled high school students. These courses are occasionally held off campus at area high schools, and the successful candidate for this position should be a willing contributor to the DEEP program and able to commute to these locations. We seek a candidate with evidence of effective teaching at the college level, and a student centered approach to learning. There is a possibility of teaching other classes in the candidate’s area of expertise in the Winter 2019 semester.
- Master’s Degree or higher in Communication
- Demonstrated record of teaching excellence at the college level
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
