Job Summary

Medical Assistant Associate role in the Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser Center assists with patient flow in a fast paced, outpatient setting while providing excellent customer service. We are actively seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-oriented individuals who will share in the goal of creating the ideal experience for our patients.

 

Responsibilities*

Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist on a number of complex procedures including laser treatments for various cosmetic and medical conditions, glycolic acid peels and sclerotherapy, and other treatments as directed. 
  • Provide clinical assistance by taking and recording vital signs; enter or update medications, allergies, health history and other key elements related patient care in accurate and professional manner
  • Prepare procedural instruments for sterilization
  • Maintain, order and stock supplies for exam rooms and laser unit
  • Ensure appropriate infection control protocol is followed in our clinical area  
  • Properly manage equipment to ensure it is well-maintained and ready-for-use 
  • Promotes and facilitates positive communication with the entire health care team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

Requirements for the Assistant Level:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and 0-1 years of experience
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant

Requirements for the Associate Level:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistant program or an equivalent combination of education and 1-3 years of experience
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant

In addition, candidate must have experience providing/performing:

  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Exceptional Customer service
  • Successful outcomes working in a high volume, fast paced clinic setting both independently, and as part of a team
  • Ability to accurately receive and relay information over the telephone and written documentation
  • Excellent attendance record and punctuality
  • Communicates effectively in ways that enhance productivity and build respectful relationships
  • Able to serve as a positive role model and lead by example
  • Demonstrates proactive problem solving skills and takes the initiative to identify, act and follow through on problems
  • Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal, and information technology skills and shares relevant information
  • Moderate standing/walking, as well as lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients

Required Qualifications*

  • Friendly and upbeat demeanor
  • Reasonable knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in patient care activities
  • Demonstrated effective time management skills
  • Experience in clinic, medical office or other ambulatory care setting
  • Fluency with computer programs, telephone etiquette and other office procedures
  • Experience with MiChart/Epic systems

Work Schedule

This is a full time position; Monday through Friday, shift hours are from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30p.m. (shift hours could potentially change based on the clinic’s operational needs and required meetings).
