The School of Kinesiology Sport Management program at the University of Michigan invites applications for a new faculty position of clinical assistant professor. This position will begin in the fall 2018 semester. Candidates will have an expectation of teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Sport Management program, as well as service to the school. The teaching load will consist of six courses over two semesters*. Specific service responsibilities will be based on the identified candidate and their unique professional / industry expertise. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
As one of four programs in the school, the Sport Management program prides itself on research productivity and teaching excellence. The program maintains collaborative relationships with other academic units across the University of Michigan as well as with organizations in the sport industry.

The School of Kinesiology (https://www.kines.umich.edu/) is one of 19 independent academic units within the University of Michigan. The School is led by a Dean and has 5 clinical track faculty, over 30 tenure-line faculty and approximately 1,000 students. The School of Kinesiology includes research disciplines in sport management, biomechanics, motor control, exercise physiology, athletic training, and health and fitness. *NOTE: This teaching load assumes a U-Year or nine (9) month appointment. Depending on the identified candidate, the position may be set up as either a U-Year or a 12-month appointment.
Applicants should demonstrate expertise from significant industry experience and/or teaching experience in one or more of the following sport management-related areas: digital and social media marketing, brand management and advertising, and/or sales.
A master's degree coupled with extensive industry experience is required, with preference given to applicants with an earned terminal degree.
