Responsibilities*

Plans and coordinates the daily work involved in the computer-based awarding processes of the Ellucian Banner system.  Works with Office of Financial Aid staff to assess needs, identify problems, test software releases and recommend system-related priorities and assist in the data driven reporting, data queries and creation of SQL an PL/SQL scripts for reporting and system maintenance.  Includes but not limited to weekly awarding processes.  Maintain FA database.

 Weekly dataload of ISIRs from electronic files from federal aid processor, run all packaging processes, recommend updates and improvements, program annual changes to packaging and all Banner set up for new aid years.  Send/receive ISIR corrections weekly.  Assist in automating financial aid processes throughout department.

Recommend process improvements, troubleshoot Banner issues design and run reports as needed, train and update employees on Banner and queries designed for their programs. Provide training to staff in the use of Banner and any upgrades or new releases.  Responsible for testing releases before loaded into production area.

Develop and maintain both financial aid and Banner expertise and utilize it to support needs of the department in achieving office goals.  Will include conference/training attendance.

Knowledge of financial aid necessary to assist in performing file review of verification, revisions, manual and batch awarding processes and changes.  May assist in other areas such as Return of Title IV funds and professional judgement cases.  Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree required. Minimum 3 years hands on financial aid experience using Banner or Ellucian product, or like software platform.  2 -3 years of experience running financial aid awarding processes and/or minimum of 2-3 years technical experience supporting a financial aid office. Must be a proven team player and able to work with others to resolve financial aid functional and often complex technical issues.  Expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, office automation tools required. Desired Qualifications*

Experience with COD, NSLDS, Image Now, WebFocus desired.  Experience with Enterprise reporting tool, CRM tools and social media communications a plus.
