The Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory is seeking a full-time Pulmonary Technologist to provide complex patient care to our patients with pulmonary diseases.
Perform spirometry, plethysmography, single breath diffusion capacity, gas dilution FRC, bronchoprovocation, exercise testing, pulse oximetry, arterial punctures and ABG analysis in compliance with ATS and CAP guidelines. Set-up, calibrate, maintain laboratory equipment and perform general lab duties. Perform QC/QA. Perform equipment troubleshooting and coordinate with Clinical Engineering, HITS and MGC Tech Support to resolve technical issues. Prepare, process and distribute reports on procedures and pulmonary mechanics.
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree (or minimum of 62 semester hours of college credit and completed coursework in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics). Minimum of six months experience in healthcare related field, clinical role. Strong computer skills/experience required. Ability to work as part of a team and interact with faculty and staff.
PLEASE NOTE: Selected candidate must be able to move extended distances while transporting 20 lbs.
Bachelor’s degree is preferable with a concentration in human physiology, kinesiology, exercise physiology or biology (later with premedical curriculum).
40 hours, full-time. Days, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
