The vision of the Adolescent Health Initiative (AHI) is to transform the healthcare landscape to optimize adolescent and young adult health and well-being. We are looking for an experienced Program Specialist to help us achieve this vision. This position will implement the award-winning Adolescent Champion model with state health departments, health systems, and organizations across multiple states. The Program Specialist will oversee Adolescent Champion recruitment, training, assessment, and continuous quality improvement for participating cohorts of primary care and school-based health centers. This position will collaborate to develop new trainings, resources, and quality improvement models to expand AHI’s program offerings on adolescent primary care, sexual health, and mental health to a national audience of health care providers and youth-serving professionals. AHI will provide on-the-job training, but an ideal candidate should have experience providing training, coaching, or technical assistance to healthcare providers and youth-serving professionals. The Program Specialist should possess strong organizational and communication skills and enjoy working as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
- Oversee recruitment for Adolescent Champion health centers across multiple states
- Conduct Adolescent-Centered Environment Assessment Process (ACE-AP) to improve policies, practices, and services for adolescent patients at participating health centers
- Provide training, coaching and capacity building assistance to health care providers and staff Adolescent Champion model and adolescent-centered care
- Assist with continuous quality improvement, including quantitative and qualitative evaluation of programs and services
- Develop trainings, resources, and quality improvement models on adolescent primary care, sexual health, and mental health for national audience
- Present at summits and national conferences, including 3-5 out of state events per year
- Other duties as assigned
Master’s degree in health education, public health, social work, healthcare administration or related field
3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, community-based organization, or health department
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and achieve project objectives
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to participate in national travel 3-5 times per year
Expertise is adolescent primary care, sexual health, or mental health
Experience developing trainings, webinars, or curriculum
Experience providing technical assistance to health care providers or other customers
Experience with data collection, evaluation, or quality improvement initiatives
Training or experience using Motivational Interviewing or other coaching techniques
Experience with quality improvement initiatives in healthcare settings
Experience delivering trainings or presenting at conferences
Microsoft Office Suite expertise
