Responsibilities*

The Department of Pathology is seeking a PhD Research Investigator to join the faculty at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The specific area of research that this position will facilitate will be studies of sirtuin biology, specifically focusing initially on elucidating roles for SIRT5 in cancer, and development of SIRT5 inhibitors. Non-experimental responsibilities include collaborating with Principal Investigator and colleagues with day-to-day operations necessary to facilitate research activities, maintaining detailed records of laboratory materials and procedures and actively participating in lab meetings and journal clubs and preparing research papers for submission for peer review when appropriate. The candidate will be expected to work as needed to complete projects in a timely fashion, including evenings and weekends when required. Successful candidate will also be expected to publish and present results of this research.

Required Qualifications*

 This position requires a PhD and 4+ years of postdoctoral fellowship experience in inflammation-related research as well as a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
