Minimum salary for this position is $3,413.50 per course. The University of Michigan-Flint Sociology Program, seeks to fill a one semester LEO Lecturer I position to teach SOC 100-W1, Introduction to Sociology ONLINE, for the Fall 2018 semester. Introduction to Sociology is a 3 credit course that is an introduction to the discipline of sociology. The course examines how socialization, culture, and social structures shape human behavior. It investigates social inequality in a variety of areas including race, class, and gender, and examines social institutions like the family, education, work, politics and government, education, and the media (among others). SOC 100 has a Social Science General Education designation. The course will be available to students on Blackboard at 12:01 am on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, and Final Exam week is December 12-15 and 17-18, 2018.
Master’s Degree in Sociology required.
ABD Status or PhD preferred.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
