Job Summary

A lab technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Lei Lei in the Department of Cell & Developmental Biology at the University of Michigan Medical School. Lei laboratory studies mammalian ovarian development using mouse model system.


The selected candidate will take care of the lab mouse colony, including performing routine daily check and genotyping; assist other lab members with experimental trouble-shooting; assist in general lab maintenance, organization and record keeping.

The selected candidate should be familiar with techniques such as: mouse tissue dissections, PCR, DNA gel-electroporation and basic molecular cloning.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor’s level degree in biological science is preferred. Previous experience in mouse handling is required. Research experience in Molecular Biology and Histology are highly desired. The successful candidate should also have effective communication skills.

Research Lab Tech Associate: HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 0-1 year experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Research Lab Tech Intermediate: HS Diploma or Assoc Degree and 1-3 years experience is required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
