The available position is within the Diabetes Center at the University of Michigan.
- The candidate will be expected to have extensive expertise in mouse handling/husbandry, colony management (with database expertise), and PCR genotyping experience.
- The candidate will be expected to organize and handle a robust mouse colony and assist laboratory members with physiologic studies as well as organizing study design.
- The candidate would also have opportunities for lab leadership responsibilities, including protocol and study design as well as undergraduate training opportunities per their interest and performance.
Research Tech Senior Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years experience required
Research Tech Intermediate Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Associates Degree and 1-3 years experience required.
A graduate degree (masters/Ph.D.) is preferred
Any background expertise in diabetes and/or pancreatic beta cell biology would be a welcome.
Expertise in physiologic assays and immunohistochemical procedures is highly welcome.
This position may be underfilled at a lower classification depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
