A primary focus is the design and development of innovative high-throughput screening assays for chemical probe discovery. Current areas of investigation include microRNA maturation, microRNA-protein interactions and protein-protein interactions involved in mRNA translation. Our work is supported by the NCI and NIGMS.

Responsibilities*

The successful candidate will perform high-throughput screening using Garner laboratory developed biochemical assays at the University of Michigan Center for Chemical Genomics. The candidate will also be responsible for the preparation of all necessary assay reagents; examples include the expression and purification of required proteins, RNA labeling, buffers, etc. Additional efforts in small molecule follow-up such as biophysical characterization and biochemical and molecular biology assays will also be required.

Required Qualifications*
