Join a high risk prenatal referral center staffed by seven maternal-fetal medicine specialists in an exciting university setting. Provide comprehensive genetic counseling services to patients with a variety of indications including fetal/in-utero intervention for a variety of anomalies. Genetic counselors in the Fetal Diagnostic Center have the opportunity to attend and participate in weekly multidisciplinary Fetal Development Conferences, contribute to research projects, write case reports, as well as supervise University of Michigan genetic counseling students, nursing students, medical students, resident physicians, fellows and others. Facilitate and lecture in the Reproductive Genetic course as part of the University of Michigan master’s degree program in genetic counseling. Master's degree in genetic counseling is necessary. Experience in genetic counseling and certification as a genetic counselor by the American Board of Medical Genetics is desirable. Board-eligible candidates/new graduates also encouraged to apply.
Experience working in a prenatal setting, willingness and comfort in discussing in a non-directive manner the entire range of reproductive options, including pregnancy termination.
