Job Summary

The Truttmann laboratory is seeking a highly-motivated research technician to join our new group at medical School U Michigan. The primary focus of this position will be to support and conduct an exciting series of projects aimed at understanding how post-translational protein modifications regulate protein folding in health and disease.

You will be directly supervised and trained to independently conduct experiments as well as record and analyze data. Work could include rodent handling, protein purification, tissue culture, molecular genetics (cloning), immunohistochemistry, microscopy, Western blotting and ELISA. Excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to details as well as ability to work efficiently within a team are all key for this position. Additional duties may include lab maintenance and organization.

Required Qualifications*

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual with HS Diploma or Assoc. Degree and 0-1 years of experience required.  BA or BS degree preferred.  Candidate should demonstrate eagerness to learn and implement new methods and scientific concepts. Previous laboratory experience in molecular and cellular biology are a plus. If desired, mentorship will be provided to individuals interested in pursuing MD and/or PhD degrees following this position
