Job Summary

The Law School Admissions and Financial Aid Office is hiring a Receptionist to greet guests and drop-in visitors, answer phones, respond to inquiries regarding the admissions and financial aid processes, and route telephone calls as appropriate.  

Other duties include assisting in scheduling appointments and coordinating calendars; making travel arrangements for staff attending law school fairs; support and planning assistance for tours, phonathons, and admitted student weekends; arranging itineraries for student visits, and assisting with their travel arrangements; preparing correspondence, reports, and forms; making departmental purchases, tracking and reporting departmental expenditures, reconciling P-card statements and other financial records; maintaining office filing systems; assisting in general office procedures where and when needed; maintaining office supply inventory.

Required Qualifications*

A high school diploma is required as is some experience in higher education, either through classwork or work experience. The selected candidate will have knowledge of and experience with word processing, database management systems, spreadsheets, electronic calendaring, and email programs, and a proven ability to easily adapt to new computer technology.  The selected candidate must be able to handle a heavy workload while paying close attention to detail and maintaining a high level of accuracy, and must have strong organizational skills.

Desired Qualifications*

College degree preferred with an understanding and appreciation of the goals of higher education and school admissions.  Experience with HTML and familiarity with social networking media is desired. Enthusiasm, creativity, energy, discipline, collegiality, judgment, discretion, commitment to diversity, passion for excellence, and sense of humor are essential attributes.  Knowledge of University policies and procedures and MPathways is desired, as is experience with event planning and tracking of financial expenditures.
