Answering phones; checking voicemail hourly, returning calls, scheduling patients and rescheduling patients.
Managing referrals via email and contacting referral patients and referring offices.
Uploading and sending x-rays to central records.
Registering patients and check demographics and insurance.
Collect patient payments using established guidelines; charge entry; reconcile cash collections daily according to clinic standards.
Previous medical or dental work experience. Demonstrated excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette. Exhibit a professional and positive image during all interactions. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines and work effectively with frequent interruptions. Ability to work effectively with management, administration, faculty, peers, co-workers, students and patients. Experience using a computerized patient information system (i.e. MiDent, AxiUm, MiChart). Computer experience using Microsoft office products (i.e. Word, Excel). Excellent attendance record. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent attention to details. Excellent organizational skills.
Previous cashiering experience. Knowledge of University of Michigan policies and procedures. Knowledge of School of Dentistry policies and procedures.
