Assist with food preparation; clean, slice, dice, chop, and peel fruits and vegetables, slice cooked meats and cheeses. Assist in preparing grilled, sauteed, baked, fried, and convenience foods. Set up service areas prior to meal including beverage stations, hot wells and serving lines, coffee service and condiment areas. Operate kitchen equipment including slicer. Responsible for cleanup of service area following meal service; follow HACCP and Health Code Standards.
Must be able to communicate verbally with students, coworkers and managers. Must have good customer service skills. Must be able to combine ingredients following a recipe and follow written directions. Must be able to do basic math. Must be able to weigh and measure ingredients. Must be able to position/move items (50 lbs). Previous experience in a fast-paced foodservice environment preferred.
