Minimum salary for this position is $4,750.00 per course section. The University of Michigan-Flint’s Department of Art & Art History seeks a part-time, Lecturer I in Design, beginning September 2018. Responsibilities include teaching one or more of the following courses for Fall 2018. These courses are ART 232-01 Typography 2:00 – 5:15 Tuesdays and Thursdays, ART 252-01 Digital Imaging 11:00 – 1:45 Tuesdays and Thursdays and Spatial & Temporal Design (Designing for sequential user experience across multiple media including magazines and exhibitions.) The appointment is for the Fall semester only, but is potentially renewable for the Winter semester based on department need.
Minimum qualifications include a M.A. or MFA in Art with coursework in Design preferred. A Bachelors Degree with current professional work as a designer is acceptable. Ability to teach a range of courses in design using Adobe Creative Suite and other software. Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated vision, enthusiasm, and leadership are essential.
Coursework in Design preferred.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
