Job Summary

This position will serve as a Central Sterile Processing Department's (CSPD) runner and will assist the staff in transporting between CSPD and the units serviced. The runners will pick up, transport, and check in all carts, instrument bins, instrument sets, endoscopes and/or items to be reprocessed in CSPD as needed. Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Transferring scopes, sets, or case carts, organizing transport carts, or picking up supplies. Checking/scanning soiled items and scopes into CSPD decontamination. Checking patient ready items out of CSPD and scanning location barcodes in customer units. Loading and unloading the cart washer/wiping down cart washer as needed. Professional and positive communication with customers, leadership, and expediter/dispatch. Minor cleaning duties, such as wiping down surfaces, organizing work area, replacing trash bag, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications*

This position involves standing/walking for extended periods of time, bending, and moving/transferring items weighing up to 28 lbs. The position also involves moving carts through hallways and in/out of elevators/washers. Must be able to work flexible shifts. Have ability to handle delicate medical devices with care and follow protocols. Possess ability to withstand wearing personal protective equipment as indicated. Must possess strong verbal communication, teamwork, and customer service skills as well as a trong work ethic.

Desired Qualifications*

Previous experience working in an Endoscopy Unit/OR/C desired. 

Additional Information

Position pays $13/hr. Work schedule is Monday - Friday, mid-shifts (approx. 12pm-8:30pm, varies). Assignment begins ASAP and is expected to last approximately 6 months.
