Job Summary

Responsible for the day to day operations of a specialized laboratory within a department or research program.  
Manages all phases of a large, complex research project with the principal investigator (PI).


Works directly with the principal investigator on the development and the implementation of the research plan and development of research goals.
Responsible for conduct and support of experiments, functioning as a specialist or technical expert on one or more phases of the project(s); Works with the PI to develop the necessary mathematical and/or computer models for analyzing experimental data.  
Supervises other laboratory personnel
Expected to write significant portions of research proposals. Expected to act as liaison with outside agencies to acquire data and share research information.
Expected to make formal presentations of research findings.

Required Qualifications*

Bachelor’s Degree required.  5-6 years of related experience, i.e., published in a field of specialty and academic knowledge in a field or discipline.  Master’s or Doctoral Degree preferred.

Desired Qualifications*

MD or PhD required.  Minimum 5-6 years of related research experience, i.e., published in a field of specialty and academic knowledge in a field or discipline.  

  • Advanced training in cellular and molecular biology with zebrafish.
  • Familiarity in identifying neural crest stem cells for corneal stroma and endothelium

Work Schedule

40 hrs per week/Flexibility in days and hrs
