The Program Coordinator’s primary function is to assist with the operational and administrative work of the MAP program, which is managed by the Office of Action-Based Learning (OABL). This individual will support the administrative activities of this academic course to 1) create a positive educational experience for students and faculty and 2) ensure a favorable engagement for the program sponsors (corporations, nonprofits and entrepreneurial companies) that host Ross students.


Areas of responsibility will include:


Marketing and Communications

  • Coordinating marketing efforts to promote the MAP program to prospective sponsors and students

  • Drafting and administering communications with MAP sponsors, faculty, staff, and students

  • Monitoring the department email address and responding to questions from students and sponsors

  • Systematically updating existing and creating new sponsor, faculty and student project onboarding materials


Event Coordination

  • Planning and coordinating events for the MAP program

  • Assisting with scheduling of rooms and meetings


Compliance and Travel/Expense Process Management

  • Supporting the administration of University compliance processes

  • Planning and coordinating student travel for up to 200 students to as many as 20 different international destinations which includes researching visa requirements, facilitating visa processing, and ensuring students complete travel health and safety protocols

  • Administering student expense processes


Data and Technology Management

  • Maintaining and updating program records

  • Preparing departmental reports around key program metrics

  • Updating and maintaining online platforms that support and enable MAP operations


Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of relevant progressive work experience in project or program coordination, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to professionally interact with corporate sponsors, students, and faculty while representing the Office of Action Based Learning in a positive, enthusiastic manner

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and present solutions

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills

  • Familiarity and comfort with business terminology

  • Ability to work independently and function well in a team environment

  • Quick learner with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Google Apps and have experience with other web-based tools and platforms. Experience with Canvas, Qualtrics, and CRM software is a plus.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Advanced Excel skills

  • Background in program and event coordination

  • Experience with international travel logistics

  • Background in travel and expense and/or finance process management as well as general bookkeeping and accounting

  • Experience with system and process development and implementation

  • Knowledge of University of Michigan practices and policies
