Job Summary

Scope:

This is a leadership position in the MRI Division which provides support to the division in working with General Anesthesia and Child Life to help patients from the ages of 6-11 years of age complete their MRI without sedation.

 

The GA Utilization Lead Technologist for the MR Division requires teamwork and the ability to work with MR faculty, administration and staff to achieve, maintain and evolve “Try Without” program.

 

Responsibilities*

As the GA Utilization Lead Technologist for the MR Division, this individual would be responsible for:

  • Quality Control (QC) of all Pediatric patients under General Anesthesia.
  • Select the approved patients based on predetermined criteria for the “Try Without” program.
  • Coordinate with GA and Child life staff the scheduling of the approved patients.
  • Work with the Staff Radiologists with streamlining the protocols to decrease table time for these patients.
  • Assist the C&W Quality Assurance Lead when necessary with protocol development and maintenance.

As a GA Utilization Lead the individual is acting in a leadership role at all times and will maintain proper and respectful communication and cooperation with all members of the MRI and University team.  The technical lead will provide operational leadership at the request of management or as necessary based on the needs of the division or worksite.

There will be active communication with the MRI management and additional members of the GA Utilization Lead. 

 

Required Qualifications*

Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in MRI.

Minimum 5 years Pediatric MRI imaging experience.

Extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathologic processes with emphasis on cardiac, neurologic,

and orthopedic physiology.

Demonstrated ability to analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to

make independent decisions on matters of significance.

Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to

display compassion, professionalism, and integrity.

Ability to work independently without direct supervision

Ability to multi-task and follow through with tasks.

Proven ability to foster and work in a team environment.

Proven technical ability in the area of responsibility to which they are assigned.

Proven ability to make decisions relevant to protocol planning & development independent of management.

Understand the GA work flow at C&W and be able to QC patients appropriately.

 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Knowledge and ability to work on different MRI platforms. 
  • Pediatric experience 
  • GA work experience in a pediatric atmosphere 
  • Quality Control experience
